- The Maitri Interntional School, 2000

Mission

The Maitri Interntional School is committed to enabling children to discover their inherent potential to be international leaders . We are committed to equipping children with the necessary mix of knowledge, skills, competencies and the attitude to excel in the globalized world.

It is our mission to nurture and better prepare students for the next level in education, in that they become employable and educated persons who can contribute to the economic growth of the country of Bangladesh.

    History

The Maitri International (MIS) School was established in 2000 at Debidwar, in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is 123 Km away from Dhaka.

It was founded by Md. Mahamud Hasan, a philanthropist and student. It was first a pilot program, serving local girls in the area only in the morning. In 2002, it shifted to becoming a proper operating school, recruiting not just young girls, but all children who needed access to basic education and guidance. The school runs classes from pre-school to grade 5. Currently, the school has a total of 196 students.  Most of the students are from underprivileged backgrounds. It follows the national curriculum. MIS is a pioneer in kindergarten education and experiential learning, and continues to develop.

Vision

Our vision is to create a sense of purpose in the lives of the many disadvangted children who reside in Comilla, Bangladesh. The MIS team, its supporters, and international partners strive to provide opportunities of basic quality education for all learners and the resources they need to succeed.

We envision our students to be:

Confident-well-informed-critical thinkers to excel in school and outside the community.
